I'll explain why I posted this picture of Joey Mead later. Thanks to Rogue Magazine, by the way.I did promise to update a bit more regularly, but apparently, my life is taking a lot of my time away from this blog. That is aside from the fact that I've gotten sick and tired of posting the same old crap every time: bashing GMA or ABS' new noontime or evening soap opera. I thought that we hippies who want a frickin' revolution *peace sign* against the tyranny of brainless and shameless TV programs would emerge victorious, but even us freedom fighters get tired of the same crap as well. Pepe and Ninoy, I am not worthy.
During those rare times that I visit my blog, I come across those of you (3 or 4 of you... heheh) that believe in the cause. It is you guys who make me want to update again and march on. I also hope that you guys do the same so that we can save our children from the evils of dumb TV.
The past year, we've seen more of the same dumbing children's fantasy from GMA, and surprisingly, a back-to-basics mode from ABS-CBN.
GMA gave us (and our aching intelligence) a new superstar in the persona of Marian Rivera, whom I know you guys are familiar with as the former afternoon soap opera princess. Apparently, GMA discovered a gold mine in MR; however, again, it's more of the same from the acid-induced writers of GMA: soap opera versions of Marimar (a mexican telenovela remake), Dyesebel, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, and a dumber version of Darna.
What surprised me though is that ABS-CBN bravely attempts to go back to the formula they becale famous for: original story soaps free of fantasy in the form of Tayong Dalawa. The effort is there, guys, but... naaah.
I will review most of them later on (I promise!) right after I clear a few things in my life. In the meantime, I sincerely thank the 4 or 5 people who read the blog. I remeber what was said in the bible that when 2 or 3 are gathered in my name I am in... ehh. Whatever.
